Removing an impaled jig from a fish with a forceps, or pliers will often cause the paint to flake off the jig, or breakage of the hook shank. This handy tool will save you time, and money on the ice! It comes with a retracting 24" lanyard, so that it is always close at hand while fishing. Use summer or winter. Simple, safe and effective on all styles of hooks and jigs. Two inches longer than the original T2, it also sports a larger "V" to more effectively remover larger jigs, and impaled hooks!

It's an excellent tool. Much better than using needle-nose pliers. However, it needs to be a couple of inches longer. It would also be of benefit if it would float.
Seems to be the right tool for my use. Have always been using a needlnose or forceps in the past.
